New 7v7 Format – Honouring Simran’s Legacy
This year, we’re introducing a new 7v7 soccer format, played over two days – August 30 & 31. Instead of preset teams, all registered players will be entered into a player pool, and teams will be drafted one week prior to kickoff.
This format encourages connection—bringing together players from different backgrounds to build new friendships and forge lasting bonds. It's a reflection of how Simran lived his life: wherever he went, he brought people together, made genuine connections, and left a lasting impression with his warmth and support. This tournament format is designed to honour that spirit.

Tournament Format & General Rules

Draft Style: Snake draft format

Game Duration: Two 30-minute halves per game

Teams: 8 total teams

Roster Size: Minimum 12 players per team (Targeting 100–120 total participants)
Tournament Structure
Day 1 – Group Stage (Round Robin):

Two groups (A & B), each team plays every other team in its group once.

Group results will determine seeding for the knockout rounds.
Day 2 – Knockout Stage:

Quarterfinal matchups:

Group A 1st vs Group B 4th

Group A 2nd vs Group B 3rd

Group B 1st vs Group A 4th

Group B 2nd vs Group A 3rd

Winners proceed to semifinals, followed by Bronze and Gold medal matches.

Tiebreakers: Determined first by goal differential, then head-to-head record
Disciplinary Rules

Cumulative Yellow Cards:

3 yellow cards across multiple games = 1-game suspension

Each additional yellow = additional 1-game suspension (e.g., 4th yellow after serving suspension triggers another suspension)
